Still problems with alignment in version 2.11.2 #47

Hello Alexander,

unfortunately the issue described in #42 is still not completely fixed in version 2.11.2. Alignment may work fine let's say 5 or 10 times but then suddenly occurs the same as described in #42. In this case I have to exit SmartSystemMenu and to restart it. Then all works fine again.

So please could you take a look at this matter again?

Thank you.

PS: I am aware that after version 2.11.2 there were already three more releases. If you think that the issue could have been fixed by one of them, of course I will update.

Hello Peter-202122,

I have tested SSM with hot keys (WinL+1) ... (WinL+9) for a few windows for several minutes and everything works well.

Thanks for testing, Alexander. Yes, for me too everything worked well again after my posting (having used exactly these hotkeys several times). ;-) Before it had occured only occasionally and until now I could not find out a specific trigger. I will continue to watch the situation and report if I discover additional details.

Maybe sometimes your current window loses focus and it is not in the foreground.

Hello Alexander,

No, there is no connection with a lost of the focus.

But I think I discovered at least one situation (possibly it's the only one) in which the issue occurs:

It obviously has to do with a fine and very reliable program I use occasionally (especially for testing software), called "Shadow Defender" (http://www.shadowdefender.com/ ). Its main principle is: You start it (from your running Windows) and from now on your system is in "shadow mode". That means that all what you do from now on (e.g. installing some new software for testing) will be gone again from your computer after the next start of Windows.

In my case that means:

I have seen something similar with at least one other program too: When starting Shadow Defender while my PDF-reader ("PDF-XChange Editor") is on, certain settings of the PDF-reader which I had made before changing into shadow mode (e.g. setting some bookmark in pdf-file) are not kept after restarting the computer. The setting (e.g. the bookmark) is not the last one but the one it was before.

So I don't claim that SSM is to blame for the situation. But it is strange that after returning from shadow mode some software (in case that it was already started when entering shadow mode) seems to revert to some older status (in case of SSM: to an older bug in connection with the alignment settings which had existed in the former version 2.11.1) and not to its last status.

Perhaps this information can be of use for you, and if you are interested you can try to reproduce the issue.

(I still use version 2.11.2 of SMM and version 1.4.0.680 of Shadow Defender.)
