Her was the suggested design from @mesinkasir. Leaving minor feedback below
Feedback:
I think this is pretty reasonable overall!
OK, I will adjust the theme to your needs. and create desktop and mobile mockups.
Feedback:
Overall:
- We should do mock-ups on mobile as well, since that's where more than half of reading is.
Blog List
- Let's make this the homepage, actually.
- For the hero, I like the style that Nate has (https://www.nateberkopec.com/) where the above-the-fold is basically an image on the left (we can use a circular image of me, that works well) and a paragraph of text (put loren ipsum for now) on the right with a few links, then (lower) an email capture CTA and (lower) ~2 latest links and then a set of curated "best of" links which we can hardcode & add custom descriptions for.
Homepage
- This is closer to the /growth-eng page design.
- Let's leave this for later. I can do this page myself, I want to do a content rewrite before I do a style re-write.
Article Page:
I think this is pretty reasonable overall!
- One nice thing for the style would be for an article to have an optional hero image, like on LinkedIn / Medium / Substack. -
- We want a prominent email capture at the bottom and middle of an article (do we automatically add the mid-article email capture, or we can make a custom markdown component like MIDFUNNEL_EMAIL_CTA we can insert)? Either way is fine.
- Footer is reasonable, but let's get rid of the custom contact form and just have the few links and bio. Also curious what it looks like on mobile.
A theme should be minimal and technical. Helpful inspiration includes:
A mock up will include homepage and a sample article.
Do not implement yet. We will go up to 2 rounds of feedback before implementation
