Add compiled Figure 1 as PDF and PNG #1305

Purpose/implementation Section

Related to #1282 - here, I'm adding the compiled version of Figure 1 as PDF and PNG in the locations described in the figures README. The layout is different than what is in the Slides version of the figures, which did not account for the "path of the analytical PR" panel added in #1292. It also makes sense to me to talk about the samples and their characteristics (i.e., panels A and B in what I am adding) together and then features of how the project worked together (panels C & D).

New abbreviations have been included. @sjspielman do you want to take a quick look and confirm? If you're good with it, please remove the don't merge label and go ahead and merge!

Addition of figures does not go through CI so we can merge before checks are complete.
