Some thoughts here as they relate to the OpenScPCA day - our current Windows instructions are fine for RRP, but they differ from how we expect Windows users to set up for OpenScPCA:
I think the best way to deal with this is maybe just add a bold Are you coming to the second OpenScPCA day? Please follow these setup instructions instead. Then, we could have a quick list of instructions that link to the OpenScPCA docs directly. This way Windows users are prepared to potentially do local OpenScPCA setup, in the event internet connectivity isn't good enough for LSfR usage.
A related thought to my last comment: We might also recommend more generally that participants install miniconda too if they're doing an OpenScPCA day. This will save some time on day 2 if we need to work locally.
So to take this all to its "logical conclusion," we could probably just have them follow OpenScPCA instructions more generally? On the course website where we currently link the setup documents here, we could instead just link the OpenScPCA setup all around.
Tagging @jashapiro for any thoughts here!
We probably need to update these instructions, including WSL since the Windows 11 upgrade.
