7 years ago As a sum-up, hosts and services Overall status is computed as described hereunder.
For a service, the overall state is (prioritized):
- a service critical or unreachable (4 - critical)
- a service warning or unknown (3 - warning)
- a service downtimed (2 - in_downtime)
- a service acknowledged (1 - acknowledged)
- a service ok (0 - ok)
For an host, the overall state is (prioritized):
- an host down (4 - critical)
- an host unreachable (3 - warning)
- an host downtimed (2 - in_downtime)
- an host acknowledged (1 - acknowledged)
- an host up (0 - ok)
The overall state of an host is:
- 0 if the host is UP and all its services are OK
- 1 if the host is DOWN or UNREACHABLE and acknowledged or at least one of its services is acknowledged and no other services are WARNING or CRITICAL
- 2 if the host is DOWN or UNREACHABLE and in a scheduled downtime or at least one of its services is in a scheduled downtime and no other services are WARNING or CRITICAL
- 3 if the host is UNREACHABLE or at least one of its services is WARNING
- 4 if the host is DOWN or at least one of its services is CRITICAL
With this view:
I think that renaming Status to Real state and Overall status to Status will make it more clear to understand what it is about, no?
Note: currently Status contains the check output (result of the
check_command) and Overall status contains the computed state including ack, downtime, ...
