same experience here. I don't even want to try again.
Not sure if it's because we didn't do the oktoprep patch?

I don't think Oktoprep is needed as iNdependence is a fairly comprehensive
piece of
software and the preupgrade is probably the equivalent.
I did forget to mention I'm in Australia, and a previous post refers to it
being an
international dialling format or something to that effect. I am yet to see any
straightforward fixes, but assuming this (or something similar) is the issue,
would
appreciate any comments. It may be something else so wait and see.

Hey, I had the same problem yesterday and was pretty worried, but I got it all
working again.
I added App Tap INSTALLER via iNdepencence, and was able to load iWorld, which
fixes
it up.
I don't think INSTALLER is available as a separate download, but if you need it,
respond here. I know how frustrating it is to feel all alone in this!
It works, I'm in Australia and happily using 1.1.2 on my iPhone. Works great!
Hope this helps.

Jimhbi,
Thanks HEAPS for your post - I downloaded installer on 1.1.1 then iWorld,
copied it to Macbook HD then
installed 1.1.2, installed and ran iWorld and everything is devine. Not an
Installer fan so very pleased with the
result. Issue now solved. I'm precious about just using iNdependence rather
than mixing hacking methods, so
this was a great way of doing things. Thanks again for pointing out iWorld.
C.
PS... phone number display for receipt of texts has now changed to name, so
this method repairs a few
glitches for Aussies brilliantly.

I have AppTapp Installer, the Get Info shows it was created on 9/8/07
(109.6MB), is this the latest version. I also
need to download iWorld but have been unable to find it, can anyone point me to
a link to get it?

Please excuse my ignorance but when you say "run installer" do you mean run
AppTapp Installer from my
computer desktop or load it into my iPhone using iNdependence and then running
it?

Load it onto your iPhone (I used iNdependence/Customize to do this) and run it
from the phone. This allows you
to download apps directly to the phone and not need a computer. Also gives you
access to cool stuff that you
can only use via installer (most importantly iWorld!)

Hi Jim,
When I try to install AppTapp Installer 3.1 onto my iPhone using
iNdenpendence/customize, I get the
message "Failed, root password is incorrect." I checked the IP address and it
is correct and I'm using the
original password "dottie" which I've never changed. FYI, my iPhone is at
1.1.2 (upgraded) and I'm using Mac
10.5.1.
Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for your kind assistance
Steven
