"No Service" when dialing with 1+Area Code....

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Dial any long distance number or VM button
2. Or even a local number with 1+area code before it.
3. dialing by picking a number from "recent call" list that has a 1+(area 
code) in it.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Service bars are full, and then when I go to dial with an area code the 
bars all disappear and eventually I get a "Call Failed" message. All local 
calls work, and I can recieve Long distance calls, just not able to make 
them.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1.2.
No idea what OS in on an Iphone.
Please provide any additional information below.
