4 months ago Can confirm passive mobs are near impossible to find, however I managed to find some sheep but had to travel more than 2k blocks to find those 2 sheep. A workaround for now is to use the gateway of the emerald grove. It rewards you with some sheep, cows, chickens and pigs, you can use those to breed more.

What happened?
On a brand new server-generated world using the latest modpack, passive vanilla mobs have not been spawning. Non-vanilla passive mobs have spawned, but after several hours playtime on the server not a single vanilla passive mob has spawned. Difficulty is on easy and mob spawning isn't disabled. The configuration of the server follows the defaults completely.
