Please add the possibility to change the language of the app #1432

It would be great to have the possibility to set a custom locale for the app that's different from the system's one. I would like to help with the translations by translating KAU and Frost to Sardinian (I've already translated a few apps), but since Android is still not available in Sardinian I would not be able to use Frost in that language, right now, even if the translation happened to be already at 100%.

It's a nice feature, but I'm a bit hesitant to add it as it isn't well supported natively. Are any of the apps you've worked with open source? I'd like to see how they handled locale changes across activities.

Almost all of them are open source, the only one that wasn't FOSS was Skype, when it was still possible to use custom .lang files instead of the new .pak ones. OsmAnd, Markor, Memetastic, Tachiyomi, OpenLauncher, Aurora Store and Telegram all have working custom language features. So did Stringlate (even if it's not maintained anymore). VLC for Android still has some issues with it in the stable version, but I hope they will be fixed with the next updates.
