not only should the EPP setting be restored when the game exits, it should also be restored when the game loses focus, then be disabled again when focus returns.
And now AZ is so far ahead of FAO. That is huge!! :+1:
Mouse is still accelerated. I enabled EPP and launched the game, the mouse is fast. Disable EPP and launched the game, mouse is normal. Scaling multiplier was set at 6/11 (middle).
Note: When EPP is enabled, the speed multiplier (MouseSensitivity) is different than when EPP is unchecked. I would recommend that the speed slider be forced to the 6/11 (middle) position (Registry: MouseSensitivity=10) which gives a speed multiplier of "1" when EPP is either on or off. Does the cursor speed calculation in allegiance use the speed slider multiplier? Is it appropriate for it not to?
Scaling multiplier with EPP off: Position Multiplier 1 = 0.03125 2 = 0.0625 3 = 0.25 4 = 0.5 5 = 0.75 6 = 1 7 = 1.5 8 = 2 9 = 2.5 10 = 3 11 = 3.5
Scaling multiplier with EPP on: Position Multiplier 1 = 0.1 2 = 0.2 3 = 0.4 4 = 0.6 5 = 0.8 6 = 1.0 7 = 1.2 8 = 1.4 9 = 1.6 10 = 1.8 11 = 2.0
i cant repro any problem
Allegiance, when started, should query and disable (if enabled) Enhanced Pointer Precision (EPP) and return it to its previous state when exiting the game.
EPP is applying acceleration to an already accelerated pointer. It destroys precision and doubles the acceleration rate (when those settings are chosen within the game). It is an advantage to players who know to disable this and a disadvantage to the new players (and old) who are not "in the know".
