Interpretation of Pupil and Running kernels #174

Open alexpiet opened 4 years ago

alexpiet commented 4 years ago

For the discrete kernels, looking at the temporal plots is pretty meaningful, since each kernel gets added just once.

However for the continuous kernels the kernels get convolved against some long time-trace, and small features that might not look significant might become really large once amplified.

Can we find a better way to visualize these kernels?

I wonder if we can do this by convolving the kernels with a long boxcar? Do we also need convolutions with like ramps or oscillations?

Based on these findings, the final version, 24, will have both running and pupil zscored
