Python build fails

[GoogleCodeExporter]

Build of setup.py for the poly2tri.python version results in an exit code:
error: command 'i686-linux-gnu-gcc' failed with exit status 1

Terminal output file is attached.

I am running Ubuntu 13.10 and Python 2.7.5.
Dependencies are installed.
I installed Cython0.19 from the Software Center and then later installed 
Cython0.14.1 to match the setup.py requirements - maybe this could be the issue?
