cindypoo commented 9 months ago

Need camera and lenses for these rigs @HeRodrgues @travisjramirez please update the parts we are currently missing

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

@cindypoo , can you specify the camera end lenses?

The FLIR cameras are already in 426 to be installed, and USB cameras we are just waiting for the printer to finish (we only had blue and green camera cases, and to mirror what we have, we are printing them in red now).

The IR LED Lights are also in 426 to be installed.

cindypoo commented 9 months ago

This is part of the task of going from 4 to 6 rigs for VR task. So replicate the W2/W4 rig on W1 + W3. Please give all parts to Travis. Goal is for him to finish W1 + W3 by this Friday.

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

@travisjramirez already has all the cameras and lenses needed to replicate the bottom boxes.

tiffanyona commented 9 months ago

I shared this with Helio some time ago, it's the list of main components! The orange rows are things that are missing, either because we need to build more or because they are orders that are arriving. The blue ones are components that will be swap out but that some of the boxes still have.

This is still just a temporary list because a lot of the components are not the final ones yet but it can help have a rough idea of what is needed.

tiffanyona commented 9 months ago

From the previous list, the items with higher priority are setting up the two computers and corresponding screens mounts. The rest of things are depending on that and are on standby until then.

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

The plan of action: @travisjramirez will finish installing the cameras and screens and then organize all the cables of these components (in a way that we have space for the other cables that will be added later; I will be helping him, and in parallel, I will add two monitors with a stand to the table and a computer (which we need to request IT to reset) to the top of W1; On Wednesday, we will start assembling the olfactometer components, and we will need help from one of you, @cindypoo or @tiffanyona, to show us how everything should be assembled. In parallel to the olfactometer, we will also be connecting the Harp Behavior components. If everything goes to plan, in a week we should have this done.

cindypoo commented 9 months ago

As mentioned above by @tiffanyona -- high priority is for computer to be tested, and monitors set up. Nothing else can happen before that. @bruno-f-cruz said he installed everything and its ready to be connected and tested

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

The monitors are in the room. The computer is with IT to reimage, and as soon it's done, I will put it on top of W1. After talking with @tiffanyona and @axlec, we are moving everything two holes to the front of the box on the breadboard, so we have more space behind the screens inside the training boxes.

cindypoo commented 9 months ago

@HeRodrgues sounds good. please update us here when the computer comes back. Can you rephrase the second point? What are the holes and what will be moved?

tiffanyona commented 9 months ago

The schematic for the olfactometer assembling. For future reference, we should update this to a digital format (like the circuit image or something similar)

cindypoo commented 9 months ago

Agreed. We are in the process of recruiting help from Nathan to do this (rig builds and documentation). I will update you all when I know more when this will be (depends on his other tasks).

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

The computer is back; it needs to be plugged in. Could I get a schedule of experiments being run in 426 for the next two weeks? It would be helpful to have that so I can plan the rest of the build.

cindypoo commented 9 months ago

Great, thank you! Please let @nathan-mars know where the computer is. He will work with @tiffanyona + @bruno-f-cruz to test it out with one of the rig builds in progress.

@HeRodrgues for now we don't anticipate needing your help for the rest of W1 + W3 builds.

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

Okidoqui @cindypoo. The computer is in the room, on top of the box, and it needs to be strapped to the box for safety. @nathan-mars, let me know if you need help. @cindypoo and @tiffanyona, I would still like to have a schedule of the experiments for the following weeks; I need to work in the room. Just a rough schedule: "From this hour to this hour," you will be running animals. Thanks

cindypoo commented 9 months ago

@HeRodrgues Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, the computer I am referring to is the small PC that @bruno-f-cruz ordered to test. Is this the computer that is on top of the rig?

We have been running mice in 426 approximately 9am-2pm. @tiffanyona can let you know more precisely.

HeRodrgues commented 9 months ago

The tiny computer is on one of the shelves, on the server rack, and I think there's a cardboard box with the cable and power supply for it. I'm asking for a schedule because yesterday, the behavior finished at 3:30 pm, and today, it started after 10:30 am. Without @travisjramirez are you guys doing the 5 - 6 hours window? And the starting window is at 10.30 am with Olivia?

nathan-mars commented 9 months ago

I have the Lenovo Tiny computer in hand now. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

nathan-mars commented 8 months ago

The Tiny computer is hooked up to the VR display in W3 and is working. There isn't a dedicated control monitor right now, so we have to swap HDMI cables from one of the other boxes for now. @tiffanyona and @bruno-f-cruz if you want to start preliminary testing of scripts you can, otherwise let's wait until the box is fully built.

tiffanyona commented 8 months ago

Great Nathan! I think we have a monitor mount next to the table that we could place on top and use as the control monitor. We just need to make a bit of space for it. Now that that is on the way of being solved, we should start assembling the main harp boards and connections so we can test the system. The software side of things will be quickly to setup once we are able to interact with the computer.
