This is just a fun thread where we can toss out random ideas for rooms, traps, and puzzles without our ideas completely swamping out the actual issues or becoming super annoying.

My first suggestion here is for some rooms that players might enjoy encountering repeatedly. These are really loose and silly suggestions just to make the dungeons they appear in fun, even when you see the same room ten times.

1) Water jump - Who doesn't enjoy jumping from high up into a pool of water and then maybe using a water elevator to go back to the top and do it again? If you cover the bottom of the pool with open fence gates it also could become the entrance to a random room below . . . you'd just have to make sure rooms attaching from the bottom have some way to get back up. Another fun variant would be to have a deadly fall, and dispense a boat to the player that they can go down in, I seem to remember you can fall infinitely in a boat and not take any damage.

2) Player Launchers - Even though TNT launchers are all the rage recently I'm thinking back to slime block player launchers, especially now that we have honey blocks that let us slide down the walls slowly, and bouncy beds to land on.

3) Mine Carts - When was the last time you actually rode an old fashioned mine cart roller coaster? How fun would it be if that was the way you had to cross a large room?

4) Secret Rooms - The first time I encountered a room with item frames I spent a while trying to rotate things looking for secret doors triggered by a combination lock . . . I actually went into spectator a few times testing the mod because I was certain there had to be a secret door in some room, or at least something that would open up or change as I messed with things. This also might let you reuse rooms you already made . . . so sometimes there is a secret and sometimes nothing. Does that random button do something? Maybe. lol

5) Pitfalls - floors made from trapdoors that randomly open under you, carpet placed on string that can be broken using redstone, , , , this could be nasty, but if it drops you into the treasure room, or bounces you back up, or just doesn't hurt you people probably don't mind.

Sounds good. I like the idea of a 'forum thread'.

  1. Diving board. Yeah i can use this one! Thanks.
  2. Player launchers. Maybe in a future build with more space. (Which I want to do.) The current dimension doesn't give me much space to fling players around.
  3. Mine carts. Definitely! Although again, 'large rooms' are coming in the future.
  4. Secret rooms. I already do this. There are item frame puzzles and there are multiple copies of some rooms. Sometimes the button opens a secret passage and sometimes it doesn't. Reusing rooms is how I pad content. :)
  5. Pitfalls. I could do more of this.
