by some chance once get the tap interface after running the install script, and could then use the tap up script, add the route, and ping my containers
after some minutes playing with the containers I realize I cannot ping them anymore, although the tap interface was still ther (but noticed IP address of tap, configured as gateway, had changed -> but there even changing the route with new ip address dud not solve the problem)
many times uninstalled reinstalled (plus addituonal steps) , results :
almost every time I reinstall, a fatal error occurs restarting docker daemon , giving this error message in a dialogbox :
2021-04-18T04:57:03Z dockerd time="2021-04-18T04:57:03.299215681Z" level=error msg="Handler for GET /v1.41/services returned error: This node is not a swarm manager. Use \"docker swarm init\" or \"docker swarm join\" to connect this node to swarm and try again."
no tap interface ever appears with ifconfig
I understand that there's something about mac not supporting tap interfaces anymore, and know that community would have provided a solution if it had been possible,
Honestly macbook sucks for anything technically serious : just good at media and secretrary work , no respect for GNU/linux, this would never have happened on debian, going back to debian, keeping mac for dumb slack youtube google meet and google slides, and invoices
