Event spirits #46

Is there any way to change the spirits that are added post-launch but not in DLC spirit boards? (Resident Evil, Octopath, Ring Fit, etc etc) They don't load in the list for me, but the spirits released with the DLC characters do.

Event spirits are distributed through BCAT files to Smash Ultimate.

Essentially, there are title updates - which force you to update the game from the homepage. Things like new characters get this.

There are also BCAT updates, where the game hits a server, and pulls an update, but doesn't have to formally update the game, it can be pulled in organically to the game.

My switch was hacked before emunand was a thing, so I can't connect to Nintendo servers at all, so I don't have BCAT files to test with and implement. Theoretically, if someone has those BCAT files in their game, they'd probably be able to extract them from their Switch, but I have no idea how to do given my Switch's situation.

Hopefully that gives you a jumping off point if you're looking to add/modify Event spirits.
