@johnbtz I have the same problem with Emulation Station! Sometimes it crashes and sometimes it doesn't. Have you been able to fix the problem or have any idea what could be the issue?
Sorry, I never found a solution. I had to put the arcade project on the back burner for a while, but I'll keep looking when I gt back to it. If I find a solution, I'll post it here. FWIW, a number of folks are having this issue from what I read on https://retropie.org.uk/forum/
Thank you for replying! I found a solution to my problem, it turns out it had something to do with the encoder of the controllers. I didn't expect the controllers to be an issue, but somehow they made Emulation Station crash. I'll link the video tutorial I followed to fix the problem, it might help :) https://youtu.be/iAoOUd6rGfc
Before trying it, I recommend disconnecting your controllers from your Raspberry Pi and running Emulation Station a couple of times. If it keeps crashing, it's probably another thing that is causing the issue.
Can you resend the link, looks like it’s corrupted somehow.
Thanks!!

Having issues running ES (Retropie) on a Raspberry Pi-400. I get a dialog box that says "Emulator Station Crashed" just after the ROMS finishes loading and the "done" message appears. The happens on 3 different SD cards. Weird thing is, it doesn't happen all the time. If I keep trying to reload emulationstation from the command line, it eventually works.
I can get it to successfully load several times in a row, and it crashes several times in a row. No real pattern.
I looked on the Retropi forums and see other people have had the same problem, but nothing mentions an explanation or a fix.
