"Amazon X-Ray" for any video source

X-Ray is a feature of Amazon's video service that, among other things, enables users to identify the actors in a scene and displays biographical and filmographic information for them (sourced from IMDB).

With full access to the video output from Blu-Ray/DVD players, TV set-top boxes, and other media sources, it would be possible for users to add a feature like this to the movies, TV shows, and live TV they watch outside of the Amazon ecosystem.

Here's how I imagine it'd work:

1. The NeTV2 would perform the initial facial recognition to identify when one or more faces are in the scene and transmit the image data and bounding boxes to the host computer.
2. The host then uses either a local celebrity face identification system or a cloud-based one to identify the actors in the scene.
3. The information for the identified actors is then downloaded by the host and added to a video overlay using the NeTV2.
