Bring back the ability to clean up lousy transfers of great movies -- on the fly!
This could be done two ways:
1.) On-FPGA. More limited, but color corrections, contrast fixups, etc. could be applied even down to the level of an single scene. Tired of the movies in your collection that have that one scene making you want to reach for the brightness controls every time? Fix it here...
2.) On computer. Piping raw video into e.g. a POWER box for serious processing (3D denoising, motion overlay for synthetic 3D generation) using 100% open source tools, then sending it right back out for display.
