Volume Control as a whole doesn't work

What will reproduce the problem?
Any time you try to utilize volume control, either that being to mute someone, 
or to turn down their volume, it doesn't work.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Nothing. Volume is always still.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.01 on Windows 8.1, the other person I was video chatting experienced the same 
issue on Windows 7.

I'm seeing the same thing. It was working for a short while but now doesn't.
Setting away, also doesn't mute.

Just muting directly in Hangouts still works fine.

Chrome Version 43.0.2357.81 (64-bit)

OS X Yosemite
Version 10.10.3
