AluBox Design #5

Open Alviks opened 3 years ago

Alviks commented 3 years ago

We have a new Cargo bike for our Climbing Team. There is a Box which came with the bike that sits on the cargo space. This Box has space on it to create designs and logos to advertise our company and promote our team. There is a specific website that has a tool which allows a custom fitted designs to be tailored to this box. All we have to do is come up with the design and lay it out on the box using their web software and once we like what we have we can have them output it and send it to us.

*The top of the box. We dont need to think about anything to put design on. Im going to get it fixed with a rubber type glued mat. So if we have anything I need to tie to the top it wont slip.

*Front of the box (small wheel side), Part of it will be obscured from the bike frame, maybe we can put the logo, or use the corners tops for something as well. might be best to keep it simple..

*The rear of the box, (On the side that we ride the bike). We probably do not need to make any designs on. Maybe just a solid colour like the Alviks colours - Red, Blue, or Yellow.. or maybe even black.. We wont really see much from that side. Maybe only the very top right and left corners will be visible if we wanted to do anything with that space.

*Somewhere, maybe on the side or front, we need to add some contact info: phone nr. & email i think would be enough

Discount Code 10% off: qcet5imh5 The website and link to our Design I have started is here: (if you open another browser, or use incognito you can make another rendition of a new design sample. but it will create a new link so make a copy of the link so you have it)

The bike type and box type you need to choose is: ALU-BOX + BILLBOARD EBULLITT ALU-BOX + BILLBOARD E6000 BULLITT 4102

Eddie, actually I have a lot of questions about how it will be printed and how it will be glued on? Graphics will be cut out of the colour foil? You will transfer this project on the box or they will do it? I'm studying this page but I can not find what I'm looking for, it is quite amateur. The project generator accept only graphics in png or jpg which is very awkward in my opinion because normally the cut-out foils are made by the vector files so the project should be a vector - jpg and png - this kind of files are made for display, not for print. I was thinking about something like this (I'm attaching a pdf file)

projekty.pdf but I have a lot of doubt abou t these ribs, because if it will be empty al design will look a bit weird, but when I'm scrolling true their website there are some visualisations that suggesting that the ribs would be filled also so it makes me a bit confused ;) What you are thinking about it? Is there any possibility to send them the designs in a different way? ![Uploading Zrzut ekranu 2021-01-28 o 15.07.22.png…]()

Hi Paulina, From what I understand it is a printed foil with a sticky backing.

From what I understand, this site is derived from the larger site: vorova.com Which does larger scale types of printing and installation for commercial van and truck dealer signage. I have tried to get ahold of the larryvsharry vorova support but they basically have been sending me canned responses not answering my questions. Im thinking maybe vorova.com is where i should be directing my questions.

We have the box. I dont want to install it myself, since I have no experience in this so I may have to find someone to do the installation.

I had the same questions as you as far as the graphics. I didnt' understand why i could not use a Tiff and the file size requirement was quite small so I really dont understand how that can go to print.

There is also an option, i thought, maybe it could be possible to use a local company. I don't know yet how the deal w the graphics. Maybe we just need a sample to work from which is kinda what we are aiming for right now. = what kind of design do we want and once we know what we want, i can work on actualy getting it printed and mounted. this is the other place: https://profilogenbromma-stockholm.se/tjanster/

Oki, this guys from helpdesk responded. he said: "Hi Eddie,

Thanks for getting in touch.

If you check out this page you will see how the Alubox decals prints:

https://vorova.com/partners/alubox/

There may be alternative decals available if you hover your cursor over the shape and a blue button appears. Click this to view more decals.

For uploaded images these are the best rules to abide by:

Graphic Upload Specifications:

He gave me this link (above) which shows "coverage" it looks like somehow ours is set to "medium coverage. I wanna set it to "maximal coverage" which should cover the bumps.

Confirmation: i've finally spoken to this guy at Vorova to confirm what is happening with those box gaps and the design. He said, this box (i dont know why?? - they have many boxes and this is one of the few that does not cover everything) does not have the ability to do a "full coverage" over those bumps. So I think that kills any chance for us to use them to get this design on the box. it will not look nice if we have the design broken like that.

Can we do this: ? I"ll get you measurements of the box on all sides. Can you mock up a design that we like and give us an idea what it looks like. Once we have something we can agree on. I will approach that Profilogen company here nearby our work and ask them t look at the design and ask them to do the work. I can pass the artwork to them once we have something to work with.

would this be an agreeable solution to you?

paulinazbylut commented 3 years ago

Hey hey Eddi! Yes, I think that it would be the most reasonable solution :) I'm am right now two full-time jobs because I'm switching one to another but I have lots of projects to complete, so for two next weeks I'm screwed but then I will have some more time, so please measure all the elements and I will try to do it on a very first free moment.

Alviks commented 3 years ago

Hi Paulina, Sorry for the delay.... busy w the newborn these days ;)

I had a measure of the box. Please have a look above at the pics. The corners are a bit rounded so there may be some overlap. but its not so important I think. They will probably be able to tweak and fix that once we have something to give them.

The Box is: Front Narrow side: 37.5cm wide Long side: 65.5 cm Height: 47.5cm

HI Paulina!, how are you guys managing with all this messy Covid times and work changes.. Are you still completely buried under too much to do and not enough time to do anything? I think im feeling the same over here.. we get all our projects coming in the same moment and these idiot bosses make promises to clients when we who work know its not possible... Another day at the office! ;)

If you have a chance to let me know how its looking for you or you see any window of time we can talk about our box, i'd be happy to hear from you. Hope you are enjoying your fake spring more than we are (its snowing now)

/Eddie

paulinazbylut commented 3 years ago

Hello :) How are You? How is Your little creature doing? Hope everything is in the right place (which means You are living zombies - at least that's how I remember that ;) ) When it comes to spring... that year is a disaster even when it comes to weather... It seems that we have the coldest April for 25 years now... so You know... ;) I feel that I'm starting to float to the surface with my work, and I think that maybe next week I would have some time to take a look at that box. If You have any new suggestions some new ideas let me know. I need to study that from the beginning because of that pause. Warms To You all!
