If the user does not want any changes to be made to a parameter why would the user even be using the edit functionality. If the user really wants to disregard changes, the "abort" functionality is created for this reason.
Downgrading to Low as it is extremely rare for a user to type in the parameter they want to edit only to back out at the last moment. In addition functionality is not affected as we have the abort function for this rare scenario.

When editing an instrument for its non-optional parameter, you cannot disregard changes after typing out the parameter. It would be better if entering without any input would make no changes to the non-optional parameter of the instrument.
