Maybe Dell already fixed your problem on the new XPS 15 (only USB-C), the only thing they do better than Apple is that they have adapters in package while Apple ask you to pay for it.
I could epoxy in the ports works to quickly patch the problem.
Thanks for this extension, it allowed me to upgrade my Dell Laptop to the new Mac Book Pro, at least mostly. Dell seems to have came up with the need to add several USB A ports, a display port and a Ethernet port. Apple would never allow this to detract from the "fugly" notch. It you really want to give the true apple experience, you should disable most of my ports.
