Resolved issue with nested vectors occasionally being interpreted as lists within data frame columns (which led to failing checks on CRAN).

Looks like the R-CMD-Check failed (404) on the mac build because it couldn't download R using homebrew. R-test-coverage has a similar error. Seems like there may be a larger issue with R version 4.3.0
