@dalekunce / @danbjoseph - what is the priority of the automatic GPS detection?

i think it would definitely speed up and smooth out the process by which we get a volunteer to tell us their area of responsibility. but a decent administrative hierarchy database and a little bit of conversation should be able to get us the same result? i think a volunteer should be fairly knowledgeable about the various admins they're nested within (for example, a resident of Springfield would be able to confirm with a chatbot which state they are in).

fun fact of the day from the usgs:

The most frequently occurring community name continues to vary. Midway at 236 occurrences and Fairview at 235 occurrences are the two most common community names in the GNIS. The name Springfield often is thought to be the only community name appearing in each of the 50 States, but at last count it was in only 33. Riverside is located in 46 States with only Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana, and Oklahoma not having a community so named.
