Hi Lily, Hope you're doing well. Sorry for that question, but can I ask you which virtualization software are you using? Virtual Box or VMware? Did you put network adaptors of all of each VM in the bridge mode?
Hi Amin, Thank you so much for your quick response! I hope you are doing well as well. I am using Virtual Box with NAT mode on both VM's sadly in bridged mode the connection is so slow between the VM's that it is practically unusable. Thank you so much again.
I guess in my case all of them were in the bridge mode.
Do you have another computer or laptop? To create OVA files, have some of the machines in one, some on the other one; then, put all of them in the bridge mode while both laptops are connected to the same wifi router. I am not sure about this solution, it is a test.
Thank you so much for your help, at the time I do not have another computer to test it on, but maybe in the future, until then I will make do with the setup with both upfs in one VM. If I figure out a way to do it in nat mode I will respond here :)
Hey Lily, Sorry I wasn't really helpful, I kinda changed my career towards wireless networks. But if you live in Canada (Toronto), I might be able provide some help.
Hi Amin, Thank you for your great video and repo.
I was hoping I could ask you for advice, I have a very similar setup. I have one VM that runs the full core and two upfs, and another with the gnb and the ue's. This works great. However, if I move the second upf to the VM of the gnb the UE no longer have internet access, in fact it seems as though the packets never leave ogstun2. I assume there is a routing misconfiguration since the same upf worked on the other vm. Both vms can reach each other. I would greatly appreciate any tips and tricks you picked up along the way that helped you debug situations such as this.
best regards, Lily
