Mods: "Skarts Decorations" and "Ocean Recovery"
Minecraft Version: 1.20.1
Loader: Forge
Feature: Mod compatibility for "Plastic" resources
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Both the "Skarts Decorations" and "Ocean Recovery" feature their own variations on the implementation of "Plastic" in minecraft, but to different ends. Skarts Decoration is a furniture mod which makes extensive use of "Plastic Sheets, Blocks and Slabs" to craft many of the furniture pieces in the mod. The "Ocean Recovery" mod features plastic waste in the form of bags and bottles, which are recycled both to gain xp as well as to acquire "Plastic Shards" which can be made into a type of armor. I feel there is untapped potential here for compatibility with existing mods that feature either industrial or modern content.
Describe the solution you'd like
I will describe what i want and why, by mod.
Skarts Decorations - The plastic sheets in this mod should be replaced or otherwise made equivalent to the same, or similar resources in other mods which add and utilize plastic resources. I find it wasteful when i have five variations of the exact same resource from multiple mods that should be interchangeable but aren't due to the realities of modding. Plus, the way you get plastic in skarts is cringe. To acquire plastic in skarts, you "Cook" coal over a campfire for a few seconds and it turns into plastic sheets, which you then turn into blocks and slabs that you can dye which you use to make everything. Aside from being unimmersive, it's not necessary when you already have mods which already feature plastic manufacture (such as "Create: The Factory Must Grow").
Ocean Recovery - Plastic Shards from this mod should either be made equivalent to plastic sheets, or it should be possible to melt them down and reuse them. Given that the likely purpose of this mod is to educate people in regard to both recycling and plastic waste in the oceans, it would make sense to take it a step further and let us melt down those plastic scraps as an alternative way of acquiring plastic for use in new blocks and goods instead of having to make plastic from scratch. The educational aspect would likewise be improved given that the idea is to think of the plastic waste as a resource to exploit, and therefor, cleaning the ocean represents a clear benefit (both ingame and maybe even real life) as opposed to a difficult problem to overcome. Concerns about whether this would be overpowered are largely balance concerns that can be resolved by tweaking the ratios in terms of how many scraps we need in order to make either a single block or bucket worth of plastic.
Additional context
I just really like the idea of being able to do alot with the resources in our mods. I love the idea of having a huge array of uses for the materials at hand as well as different playstyles and i love anything which expands any of it. Anything which makes all our mods more compatible or otherwise work together better will always be great. The moment i saw these two mods i saw amazing potential for ways they could be incorporated into larger modpacks, i just wish i was smart enough to do it myself.
