Not Functional Anymore - Google Doc Decks #104

Which add-on is this about?

Google Doc Decks (Remote Decks)

Problem description

I followed the instructions creating the online google doc. When I put it into my anki app, it accepts the link and says that adding cards to empty deck, then completed, however it added nothing. When I use the link from your instructions, it doesn't create the cards either. I tried another laptop, but I had the same problem. No cards were created.

What Anki version are you using?

2.1.63

I think this will solve the issue, please let me know if not

It looks like our instructions were pulled over from the original add-on and didn't get updated. @AnKing-Forrest will fix that. Sorry about that. Here are the correct instructions:

Instructions are roughly the same, but the process for creating cards in the document is different as shown below.

Thank you for the updated instruction. Cards are syncing now, however formatting isn't preserved from the document.

For example, I create a table with a question, then follow it up with options a-e each on their own line in the first column. Inside Anki, it understands double line breaks but single line breaks between a-e aren't preserved. When I put in double line breaks, then it does preserve formatting and the cards appear just as in the document. Do you have an idea how I would resolve this problem?

Example:

Input: Question

A. Option B. Option C. Option

The output appears as: Question

A. OptionB. OptionC. Option

Example2:

Input: Question A. Option B. Option C. Option

The output appears as: QuestionA. OptionB. OptionC. Option

Apologies misclicked and close this prematurely.

It appears like if I let docs format the options a-e by itself (by that I mean when I create a line break it creates the following letter by itself), then it does preserve the line break and the question does look correct. Only problem then is that from options a-e, Anki gives me options 1-5 instead. Not a big deal, but still a slight annoyance.

Input: Question a. Option b. Option c. Option

Output: Question

  1. Option
  2. Option
  3. Option
