Expanding jstree.obj() to allow attaching class attributes treedepth_1, treedepth_2 etc, and also an "index" attribute containing path information. Works with CSS; hopefully will useful for the condition arg in conditionalPanel etc.

--- I'd much rather stick with shinysky if the problem can be solved. Until then, my project is stuck.
