Problem on XHTML page #3

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connection to a XHTML page (served with
"application/xhtml+xml;charset=ISO-8859-1" response content-type
2. JavaScript Error thrown : 

     Object cannot be created in this context"  code: "9

3. Result : No maps available

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

No JavaScript Error, and maps available

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
* jMaps version : jquery.jmaps.1.4-min.js
* initialisation JavaScript : $("#map").jmap();
* Client-side : Firefox 2.0.0.6 (on WinXP Pro) 
* (Server-side : Tomcat 6.0.13 on winXP Pro)
