What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Hit show desktop icon or Ctrl +D
2. All sticky notes disappear from desktop
3. From that time onward all notes will not stay stuck to the desktop

What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?

Show desktop operation does not make sticky notes disappear.  Or at least
make this a preference...

I get this too. It happens regardless if a window takes up the full screen or 
not.

To get the notes back after this happens you need to restore or open a new 
window.
