Songlinks don't work #40

Closed AutMai closed 3 years ago

When I open a songlink in a browser the "site can't be reached. -> refused to connect" image

And for example when I send the songlink to a friend on discord where It should generate an "embed" it is just blank. (probably according to the same issue as above (in the browser)) image

This proxy really isn't meant to be used system-wide, especially if you're using the MITM proxy. The MITM proxy will generate a new certificate for each domain, and any good browser would reject the MITM certs.

This proxy is meant to be used with Spotify's proxy setting. If you want adblocking on open.spotify.com, look into UBlock Origin.

@AnanthVivekanand and so how can I prevent it from blocking system-wide?

AnanthVivekanand commented 2 years ago

Set the proxy only in Spotify. You can do this in the Spotify settings. Do not set it system wide.

AutMai commented 2 years ago

If you mean setting it in Windows in proxy settings, I didn't set anything. "Automatic is disabled and use proxy too"

When you visit open.spotify.com in your browser, do you see anything logged in the terminal? Does open.spotify.com work if you turn the proxy off?

@AnanthVivekanand I have the same problem. I use brave and it don't open spotify links even when I turn off the script and nothing logged on terminal too when I opened open.spotify.com but when I turn off vpn and open it on safari it does open, but that isn't something I want, I want to use the vpn and brave not open a safari everytime for this and turn off my vpn for that and I have set proxies only in the spotify not system-wide Screenshot 2021-10-24 at 3 53 07 PM
