Development too slow - fork announced

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Look at this bugtracker - lots of bug reports and suggestions but no code 
changes
2. look at the repository - no changes since half a year

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Activity, No Activity

Out of frustration I created a fork at 
<http://häcker.net/trac/browser/open-source/jquery-edit-
in-place/trunk> where I significantly updated the code and fixed many of the 
problems mentioned 
in this bugtracker.

Well, that was way harsher than I want this to sound (but I seem unable to edit 
the submission...)

I have created a copy on my personal trac that is way advanced beyond what is 
available here.

I would love to join forces with you Dave to get this project back to active as 
I really like the simplicity of this 
inline editor compared with the alternatives.

However the non reaction of Dave to any requests here is quite startling to me. 
:/
