Edit cancel is not restoring the default value

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using the demo page 
-http://jquery-in-place-editor.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/demo/index.html-, 
modify the content of the example 1 text.
2. Press cancel
 -Or- 
3. Press ESC

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
We expect the default value to be restored. instead the changes are being 
persisted.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v2.2.0
Using Firefox 3.6.10

Please provide any additional information below.
