I guess since we don't have access to the back-end code (yet), we can't really add this feature except for making the UI? Maybe we can first write a UI that calls some API such as /votes?commentId=...
and display the information before the back end people implement the API?
This would be a fantastic idea, downvoted youtube comment votes has been in this broken since 2012 (whenever that Google+ fiasco happened). I really miss having comments with negative votes and even a warning "this comment has received too many negative votes, show comment" Although with the modern comment shadow banning and having top comments as default we could only go so far with this
I guess this would only be useful for comments with a certain amount of likes, pinned comments and comments liked by the creator. The rest of the comments are basically hidden already, and they would probably represent a huge amount of data.
Comments don’t typically receive quite as many likes or dislikes as a video would. Even with the RYD userbase growing, there will still always be a large percentage of users that don’t use it, and therefore won’t have their dislikes logged. I’m not sure the dislike count of a comment a few hundred people vote on could be inferred as accurately as a video with thousands or even millions of votes.
