4 months ago I don't disagree, but those are the colors that Josh used on his spreadsheet that I was basing the app off of, so that was what was behind the decision.

Gold for "highest value in column" isn't immediately intuitive (in a world of streetlight colors where yellow is often used as a warning). Might make sense to use a Red-Green gradient, where the highest score is the deepest green; and/or wrap the cell in a bold green border.
