Lite & pro mode #2198

Hello friends.

Thanks for such a good job.

My question is about usability.

The app can be configured to display only the main features and not all of them. That is, a box to activate pro mode and a lite mode of basic functions. It's because sometimes I just need to see the lite mode where I just want to see the Bible menu and read.

Not fan of this idea personally (yet at least).

Yea maybe we just need to make a video on how to use AB in Lite mode 😄 cause I think it's pretty easy to use just the basic features

I am more sympathetic to this request. There is no question in my mind that AB is not targeted at the casual user. My parents for example are never going to be able to find their way around it. It is kind of like the Bible for nerds.

MyBible has an 'easy' mode i noticed the other day. Is that our target audience? Do we care about those users using AB? Does adding 'easy' functionality make it even more complicated for us to maintain and harder to get features imp;lemented that existing users want?

If the software was for sale then I think there would be a good case for an easy mode. It could double or triple sales over time. But we dont sell it and dont have excess human resources so i think the easy mode should probably not happen.

I think the app is perfectly good as it is. I haven't changed much settings except font size. I say leave the app as it is or even if any changes are being made, please don't throw away the existing features

He may need to set up a 'lite' workspace? Then doubletap to hide the buttons…
