Note and inclusion of other "reading plans" #840

Consider the following URLs that share a very large but limited set of reading plans:

I would like to create a list of reading plans out of these aggregate links, and see if it is possible to integrate them into the app.

Someone should go through if they allow redistribution and possibly ask permissions. Though that does not mean that we accept them all automatically. Then need to reformat them into the reading plan ascii format, see example from here: https://github.com/AndBible/and-bible/blob/develop/app/src/main/assets/readingplan/y1ot6nt4_profHorner.properties

@DonaldTsang my recommendation would be:

  1. As you noted above, make a list here of additional reading plans that are not yet in the app.
  2. As Tuomas noted, check if we have permission to redistribute, and try to get permission where it's unclear.
  3. Confirm which plans we are willing to add into the app by default
  4. Create the .properties files needed in order to add them. Additional information here

On another note, even if there are plans that we can not add for some reason, you are always able to make the properties file and use it personally by the way of the instructions in the link above.

I'd be willing to adapt some plans to AndBible if this is an area no one else is currently doing.

Hi @BrianGaucher that would be great! Please look at my last post here for pointers in what could be done.

If @DonaldTsang has made any progress, please post here what it is that you have been, or are working with.

I haven't looked at all the plans. Kinda forgot. But in ANDBible. All plans are 1y or 2y. But nothing shorter than that. But in the list above many of them had the Bible in 6-months or 90 days. Or a survey of Bible sections in 90d. So I'd think it would be good to include some shorter less complete plans. As I'm sure there isn't some programming limitation limiting plans to exactly 365 days.

We have added a "90 day through the Bible" plan which can be downloaded like other Bible modules from "Add-ons" category.

This works only in version 4.0 (currently still in beta)

I will see when I can get to preparing it, unless someone else gets to doing it before me that would be welcomed too.

I've tried to import one but it failed with File does not contain a valid SWORD module

So how can I figure out what's invalid there?

LE: nvm, looks like there were extra hidden files from macos and also the zip tool nested the folders one more time.
