This branch housed all changes necessary to allow the method of making HTTP 
requests to Solr pluggable. Out of the box, we provide the deafult 
file_get_contents implementation as well as two Curl based implementations (one 
that reuses a curl session, and one that does not). 

After the review, I'll merge this branch into:
/trunk
