As part of a feasibility study we need to record and analyse acceleration, orientation and gyro values values encountered during normal operation of a motorcycle. Specifically, the following dynamic behaviours should be recorded:
Acceleration from standstill
Deceleration to standstill
Emergency braking (if safe)
Driving over manhole covers, potholes, bumps
Turns, bends, figure 8s
The R6 and Speed Triple paired with our riding abilities should give good averages. In terms of bad road conditions the suspensions of those two bikes should be stiff enough to infer reasonable results.
some other scenarios that might be useful (the differences can be signficant at speed)
rear brake vs front brake vs rear-front braking
chopping the throttle
emergency counter-steering (go staight, push hard on the bars)
laden vs unladen bike (sidebags, tailbags, pillion)
locked rear brake (obviously need to be careful, but they're pretty controllable and I'd say quite common in crashes)
fixed attachment to the bike frame (can't assume for a user, but would provide useful data for comparison)
