Hi. I work on ML, specifically deep learning. I also wondered, just like most of the football lovers, whether deep learning algorithms can predict the results of the matches. I am going to try some method but want to say and hear something about data. I see that statistics, lineups, footballers and some complicated information about two teams are being used as data. As I know, betting companies are already using these collected pieces of information to be able to determine betting odds for two teams' victory, the draw, half time, full time, number of goals etc. Why do not we use just these betting odds? or why should not we use just these betting odds?
Bookmakers odds are heavily influenced by money. Odds are volatile and are designed purley to balance their books in their favour, regardless of the result.
