Ok Fixed this. Reallu obscure thing.
I basically just had to add in 'dummy' strings into certain empty images from the setImageDirections method. I guess this was not a problem before as the null images were never used, but on changing the resources set up, it seems to have a stricter requirement (perhaps to do with run time stuff).
Think it is something to do with the new resources file calling stuff. (Nothing else changed that I can think of) The images array doesn't populate anything when calling the setImageDirections method. (no idea why)
