Coolwalk update

Greetings Andrey, Big thanks for the best youtube app for Android auto, It might not be easy but can you update the app to work better with the new coolwalk update, it could do much better, no more play freezes for each youtube video, faster, keyboard support while driving.

I appreciate your fast reply, here are some of the issues I face and missing features with the app.

Ads removal problem: as u can see in the first attachment this kinda white screen happens way too often, like in almost every video i play, and sometimes it starts the audio but I just have to touch the screen.

Reverse camera incompatibility: sometimes when I reverse my car the cam just pops in the screen, and the fermata app + the control app just lags and becomes a bit harder to operate and sometimes the same screen in the first attachment appears, i just unplug the android auto wire to restart it.

Steering wheel buttons incompatibility: it just gets me back to my Spotify app, i have to use the screen to control it.

Control panel persistence: even when I leave a video the panel stays, there isn't even a button to remove it, and it takes space in the screen, attached second pic, I tried the settings but couldn't fix it.

If you can fix these issues along with some buffer and stutter problems in the app, it would be perfect, and I rarely use this word tbh.

As for the features this app doesn't support youtube video chapters and pop-up player: its not critical features but it would be great.

I don't see any pictures attached. Btw, do you use the latest version? Some problems mentioned should already be fixed. For the steering wheel control you need to install the Fermata Control app.

This is an Android Auto limitation, but you can use the voice input instead of the keyboard.

Greetings, I have downloaded the control app, and it does fix most of the issues, but its not as stable as I hope, after some digging I discovered that it's actually my car manufacturer's fault, as they don't have a pause button (its only mute and it works as a pause/play button with android auto supported apps like spotify & soundcloud) I removed it in the first place also because when I leave the fermata app sometimes it doesn't bring the vid back which means I have to restart it. As for the persistent panel, I couldn't work around it, if it was replaced with a pop up option it would give much better in-app control

I really hope you can also bring the youtube bar with the chapters of the videos like in the website, and to include ad blocker for the browser too.

Andrey - Somehow the threat title "Coolwalk" was lost between the cracks.

Android Auto Coolwalk allows apps to take over the whole screen. Several apps have released new version using this API, e.g. Waze, Google Maps. It would be great if Fermata does it too.

Greetings again, I truly appreciate the work you do, but I haven't seen the last two emails, got lost in my Gmail, but when I saw the update (1.9.2) I remembered our previous convos, and still view this app as a creative efficient and a very close to perfection app. Yet the media panel is still persistent and noway to hide while surfing youtube, the white screen is coming less but not fully solved even with fast network,

And there is a video lag the audio is faster, I tried all media engines but there is still some lag.

The panel appears when a media is playing or paused. To hide the panel you need to stop the playback - long press on the play/pause button.

And there is a video lag the audio is faster, I tried all media engines but there is still some lag.

There is an audio delay option, but it only works for VLC engine and does not work for youtube. The lag could be caused by bad usb cable or slow devices.

The fact is, I downloaded the AAAD app just for the fermata auto, well done. Btw, I face the blank white screen more frequently in the VLC player, almost in every video, so its kinda audio lag or blank screens.

this a Youtube feature, and I actually like it, since not all my vids are music. anyway, if u wanna solve it just sign in your account and change the resume option, i would recommend u do it through your phone or PC.

Andrey, please fix the library issue, where everytime i connect android auto it automatically play vids from my library, never was a problem until i started playing vids from my library. Fermata takes high priority over all media apps but thats not the problem it forces playing from the library even if i played something else last usage, the only fix i could do is remove the storage and vids access but i dont want that. thanks again.

Probably, it does AA, but not Fermata. There is an option in AA settings to start playing when connected. It's enabled by default. You need to go to AA settings and disable this option.

@fcaronte The app needs to be registered as a navigation app in order utilize the full screen and not be in a windows. That's how Waze and so on are able to use this. I'm playing around with it, but I'm no good at this yet so I doubt I"ll get it to work at all. lol

Yes as I can see, seem only waze, maps or other navigation apps can use full screen, I try other PlayStore or preinstalled app and won't use all screen, but unfortunately add navigation to xml is not enough to "unlock" full screen, I think the app need to use a different API for the theme
