[BUG] does not work at all, greedy #96

Closed FreezyExp closed 8 months ago

FreezyExp commented 8 months ago

Describe the bug Cannot download anything using this app, repo constantly fails to update.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'AMM'
  2. Click on 'anything'
  3. See error

Expected behavior No captcha visible, website is the same.

Device info(please complete the following information):

Additional context I expect this is ads related, but why pay 3.50 a month for GitHub links? I wish for a free alternative over this super greedy app that barely functions.

I too am experiencing this issue. Your version of webview blocks the CloudFlare human verification process. I've made sure I'm using Chrome with no adblocking of any form and still no access to CloudFlare through the app. I've added my API key and paid for Adfree but since I can't verify I'm human as it doesn't even load, I am stuck on Please wait... for all eternity.

I've also tried enabling DNS over HTTPS within the app as suggested in the settings. Even after a full reboot of my phone, nothing.

Our version of WebView???? We don't make the WebView.

The app works fine for the majority of users.

We provide an interface and value added features such as automated scans, updates, reviews, and more, so users don't have to follow a bunch of ever sketchier GitHub links. Payment isn't required and only removes a few common sense restrictions and ads plus a few non-core features.

Things like staff, servers, hosting, etc are not free, and unless you're going to wire us a few million dollars so we can never show ads again, advertising is going to stay so we can pay our bills.

Also worth noting our Ad-Free tier currently costs $2.99, not $3.49

It's honestly quite funny to me that some people think we're "greedy" for wanting to pay our bills. You wouldn't walk in a grocery store and ask for things for free, no? The grocery store doesn't make those groceries either, so by your definition, everything there should be free to take!

Anyway, I'm sorry you're experiencing problems, but as we cannot reliably reproduce it currently, I'm going to close this issue.

Apologies, I should of mentioned I don't agree with OP's title. You guys charge a fair amount for the service you provide. However, we're obviously still are receiving issues.

I myself have purchased an Adfree membership and have accociated my API key to AMM. I'm still getting the error message You have reached your daily download limit. Please wait 24 hours to download more files, or subscribe to Ad- Free or Premium to remove ads, get unlimited down loads, and more..

I'm also getting an issue where CloudFlare Human Verification fails to load, I'm not using any ad or script blocking, in fact I'm using Google Chrome which doesn't have ad blocking in Android I've enabled your DNS over HTTPS feature as suggested by the settings, still having issues using my paid membership.

@liamolua there was a brief issue that resulted in the necessary scripts not getting executed but we don't believe the issue was ever seen in production as we caught it before it was widely deployed.

Most modules don't even update that often so what would be the recurring usage cost/benefit of the average user of an already niche market?

Either your server costs are way to high, or your team is too large. Either way a monthly subscription for something that I can replace by addting the github links to magisk manually is just not worth the money.

I won't be back, feel free to delete this issue.

The good news is, you don't have to pay! Hence the ads 😁

If every user that used our app donated $1 monthly voluntarily, we would never have another ad. Same goes for module developers too - even if they couldn't quit their day job, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

But people don't donate, almost ever. Doesn't matter how much they use your app, they're happy to use it and give nothing back besides complaints. So here we are.
