Paid Memberships not working on Downloads page with AMM #97

          > Our version of WebView???? We don't make the WebView.

The app works fine for the majority of users.

We provide an interface and value added features such as automated scans, updates, reviews, and more, so users don't have to follow a bunch of ever sketchier GitHub links. Payment isn't required and only removes a few common sense restrictions and ads plus a few non-core features.

Things like staff, servers, hosting, etc are not free, and unless you're going to wire us a few million dollars so we can never show ads again, advertising is going to stay so we can pay our bills.

Also worth noting our Ad-Free tier currently costs $2.99, not $3.49

It's honestly quite funny to me that some people think we're "greedy" for wanting to pay our bills. You wouldn't walk in a grocery store and ask for things for free, no? The grocery store doesn't make those groceries either, so by your definition, everything there should be free to take!

Anyway, I'm sorry you're experiencing problems, but as we cannot reliably reproduce it currently, I'm going to close this issue.

Apologies, I should of mentioned I don't agree with OP's title. You guys charge a fair amount for the service you provide. However, we're obviously still are receiving issues.

I have purchased an Adfree membership and have accociated my API key to AMM. I'm still getting the error message You have reached your daily download limit. Please wait 24 hours to download more files, or subscribe to Ad- Free or Premium to remove ads, get unlimited down loads, and more..

I'm also getting an issue where CloudFlare Human Verification fails to load, I'm not using any ad or script blocking, in fact I'm using Google Chrome & stock Google Pixel webview which doesn't have ad blocking in Android I've enabled your DNS over HTTPS feature as suggested by the settings, still having issues using my paid membership.

Second log trying to validate API logs (1).txt

Please always use debug builds to get logs. Release builds remove most logging by design.

CloudFlare is working in production this morning (AEST) however it's still not recognising my paid membership. The app itself recognises it however when I am in webview downloading a module, it doesn't see second picture bottom right.

I'm logged in on the browser also and not working in the browser as well.

After looking at the reviews online, I'm just going to have to come to terms I've been scammed out of my money on an app who has a team that does not care about it.

I'll be requesting Swipe to refund my money later and I'll solely rely on GitHub from now on. Serves me right for being lazy and resorting to third party websites like Androidacy.

Hope anyone reading doesn't spend any money and realises before I did that the development of this app is stale and the app is buggy and almost unusable in more ways than the issues listed here.

No way of deleting account information of removing debit card information. Guess I have to cancel my debit card, don't waste money on this scam!!!!

I'm really not sure what issues you're referring to, as I personally am using the app with my own premium token, but a rewrite is in the works anyway that will also make the sign-in process more straightforward.

And we do care about the app. Otherwise, why do you think we've been working on it for around a year now?

That's an outright lie, false, and quite frankly unnecessary. You can cancel your membership, delete your account, and see your current status at https://www.androidacy.com/wp-admin/profile.php.

And - you didn't provide us with the debug logs required to troubleshoot your issue. I believe a moderator requested above for you to provide logs from a debug build (available from GitHub Actions) so we can take a look at your issue.

We understand you're frustrated, but reporting to insults and falsehoods is not going to get you anywhere.

This screenshot is taken with a test API key we use to validate API functions that has premium enabled. As you can see, the app is correctly using and passing the API key to the API and WebView.

If you can get us those debug logs and perhaps a screenshot of your profile page, under API token (please censor the API token itself!), we can take a look

So decided to re-download as this is the only Magisk Module Mananger on the market. Decided to disable Androidacy repo and keep the git repo, funny enough all of my issues of slow start up times and crashes disappears and of course the above but that is a given since I'm removing the repo all together.

Seems to be your paid repo that fucks everything up, excuse my french but after paying for premium and your lack of believe and outright dismissive when people bring up legitimate issues even though there are many, I think I'm well in my right to be pissed.

I tried finding the debug version of this app but couldn't find reference to it, just a bunch of scammy looking sites not a good look for you. I enabled debug logging mode on the app which is what logs (1).txt is hence why I deleted my original log files labeled "logs.txt".

I'm no longer interested in providing what I can to aid in repair, please fix your repo before you charge customers for it. If your shit actually worked, people would be less bitchy about paying for said shit.

Don't me a lier. Yes I can cancel my subscription but there is no way that is viewable to the user to remove my account or even payment details. It remains in my account with no options to delete account or debit card details. Don't call me lier, clearly the dev team is ran by a bunch of nobjockies who are taking the Android Rooting community for a spin which seems to be the general consensus online.

I thought I'd come here to get my issues resolved and thought it funny that OP's original issue was demeaning however I can see why. Looks like everyone is fed up with the Androidacy team.

So anyone wanting to delete account info, their privacy settings page is blocked outside of the EU, if this isnt a red herring, I have no idea what is. Avoid anything from this team, they are obviously scam artists looking for a quick buck.

Screenshot_20240108-191024.png

Clarification for honesty purposes (since apparently I'm a lier): Yes I am using Firefox here, previously I stated that I was using stock Pixel Chrome & Webview as I just finished setting up a new device. Since posting the previous comment, I've setup Firefox.

That's, um, not how you do it. That's only for cookie preferences.

We never called you a liar, I'm really not quite sure where you got that but I do apologize anyway if we have that impression.

Probably they are liars....

They use ADS and javascript télémétrie (cough cough... spyware) for getting bucks to 'pay their hosting provider' even if i gave them a free web hosting provider.

A free hosting provider that, as we mentioned, could not cover our load.

Just because you think it's possible and think you found a solution does not mean you did. We've been in this business for six years now, I'd like to think at least some of us know what we are doing and have tried various things. You didn't give us a "solution" but a bad faith suggestion so you could say "see, you're not even trying!!!!".

You wouldn't walk in a supermarket and expect anything for free. You wouldn't ask an artist to give free artwork. You wouldn't ask anyone else offering you a service to do it for free. The android community is one of the few communities that seems to be the expectation.

The people you see on GitHub, on telegram, and the people keeping the servers on and the people writing code also all have to be paid. Or perhaps you think we shouldn't feed our families? Is that a worthy sacrifice so you don't have to be mildly inconvenienced?

Any business has bills. Every person has to eat. Every developer has mouth(s) to feed. Your convenience is not more important than all of them.

peggy-48 commented 7 months ago

Your load isn't as high as the average website's load so at least try the free hosting provider i gave you. Seriously. The whole Android community is raging because of your aggressive tracking. Would you like me to use some Privacy Badger on it, huh, that everyone starts to use it at least for protecting their privacy???? Because whatcha doin' is like taking photos of some secrets of people (that they don't wanna know) and selling them for keeping your website open. Now you can understand how i am feeling.

Thanks for raising your concerns. At Androidacy, we do show ads to sustain our operations, but users in appropriate regions can limit data sharing. We don't collect or sell any Personally Identifiable Information (PII), except as legally required or to complete a requested service. Advertising and analytics are crucial for our sustainability and help us monitor and adapt to audience trends.

It's worth noting that years ago, Androidacy was hosted on free and low-cost infrastructure. However, it didn't meet our expectations even with a significantly smaller audience. Our current setup is essential to provide the quality service our growing community expects.

We understand concerns about privacy and deeply care about our community. However, our data indicates that any discontent is from a limited group that's not a part of our target community, and while we have and will continue to engage and adapt as we see necessary, we also need to remain viable for the months and years ahead.

To maintain productive discussions, this issue will now be locked. Thanks for your time, and in the future, please use this issue tracker for bug reports and constructive app specific feedback only.
