If the author don't mind that I jump in ;)

@schuppe : there is no issue related to arduino-tiny in using pin 1 (RESET) as 
an I/O.
This is perfectly legal by flashing the appropriate fuse settings.
However, doing such will prevent any further flashing through SPI and you will 
need a different type of programmer to reflash further the chip.
This is how the Attiny chip works and this is related to Atmel.
