Instead of the ellipsis prefix, I'm thinking something along the lines of rsync -i, e.g.:
g[at]A....
Where:
'g' indicates that genre is being applied, otherwise '.'
'a' indicates album gain, 't' indicates track gain, otherwise '.'
'A' indicates album art, otherwise '.'
The other 4 '.' characters are reserved for future flags.
