What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the program

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Just a windows error message

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.9.3, on windows xp

Please provide any additional information below.

Error message:
An error has occured during load. Error text: AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe 
failed with error -402653080. The program will now exit, sorry. Please report 
this online

how to fix this?

I get a similar error. total noob to this program, please help?
aN ERROR HAS OCCURED DURING LOAD.  ERROR TEXT:
AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe failed with this error -402653180.  The
program will now exit, sorry, please report this online.
