"When pressing enter in address bar with a URL in it, open the URL in a new tab" stopped working #194

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. type an address or search results in omnibox
2. press enter
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
in toolbox settings, "When pressing enter in address bar with a URL in it, open 
the URL in a new tab" is checked, but all of a sudden today (August 26th) 
goocle chome stopped opening results in new tab. no changes or updates have 
been made to the browser or the OS.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Google chrome toolbox - 1.0.32
google chrome browser - 29.0.1547.57 m
OS - Windows 7 home premium x64
