Adding custom wallpaper folder on SD card to Menu->Wallpaper #134

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Currently there is no way to add my custom wallpaper folder to Menu->Wallpaper.
So for setting any wallpaper, I'll have to go to a thirdparty app, select the
wallpaper, navigate through the options associated with the app and then set
the wallpaper. If ADW allows me to add my folder to the Menu->Wallpaper option
and after I select my wallpaper, sets it w/o using any third party app, it
would be great.

Why don't you use Menu -> Wallpaper -> Gallery? It's how stock does it...

You are correct and thats how I'm doing it currently. However, doing that opens
Gallery 3D which eats a lot of resources, then I have to navigate to my
wallpapers folder (I got a good number of other folders), choose my image and
then I'm forced to crop/resize (even if I just want to use the whole
wallpaper). I guess I'm being a bit picky, but it would be nice to have a
lightweight way of just settings the wallpaper in the shortest steps possible.
Something like Menu->Wallpaper->My preset folder already in the list->click on
the wallpaper and it is set.

As far as I know, from playing around with anderwebs theme template, the only
way to to use wallpapers in the way you ask is if those wallpapers are already
included in an app,,, unless there is a better solution to this??

I did notice that; sometime I install an app and wallpapers included in that
app show up in the Menu->Wallpaper. Seems short of writing my own app to
include a given folder in the Menu->Wallpaper menu, I don't have a choice :( I
was hoping editing some config file in ADW would get me this :(

I was able to build the wallpaper selector you are talking about into my ADW
themes. I have seven installed now so I have seven more wallpaper browsers so
to speak. I fashioned it off something the dev put together for CM. It wasn't
to difficult to package it together inside the Theme Template, but it does make
it considerably larger. Doubt it is a viable solution for the original poster
seeing as I had to put it together in Eclipse and had to list the names of the
wallpapers ahead of time, but maybe it's something the dev can figure out how
to work in a storage folder.
